About

This is the launch of "Blockers: Rebels in the Deep State", a new book by the acclaimed author and LSE alumnus Michael Lewis, chaired by Larry Kramer, President and Vice Chancellor of LSE. The event is hosted by the School of Public Policy and takes place as an in-person public event in the Old Theatre, Old Building. The book tells of young acolytes of DOGE who in early 2025 invaded the offices of US government under Elon Musk, and of the unsung public servants they called Blockers, who fought back to defend the machine of government. It is described as a thriller about unlikely rebels and power-drunk villains, and a cautionary tale about what happens when the idea of public service becomes worthless.
