Category H Halloween Special: BLACULA + MA
Rio Cinema, Kingsland High Street 107, E8 2PB London, Dalston
£17.50
About
Category H, a late night horror film club co-programmed by Molly Miles and Scary Claire, presents a Halloween double bill celebrating black horror villains through two enjoyable films. First comes BLACULA, a blaxploitation classic about an African prince cursed with vampirism in the 1700s who, after his sealed coffin is bought by two naive interior decorators, breaks out and unleashes his thirst for blood across 1970s Los Angeles. After a short break comes MA, starring Octavia Spencer as a lonesome woman who befriends a group of teenagers by letting them party in her basement, until her true intentions begin to show and they must outwit her to stay alive. The club can be found on Instagram as @categoryhfilms.
