Classical Guitar by Candlelight
St Mary le Strand, Strand, WC2R 1ES London, Covent Garden
About
An evening recital of classical guitar music performed by candlelight inside the baroque church St Mary Le Strand in the heart of London. The concert is played by the acclaimed guitarist Amanda Cook. Her programme spans works by Weiss, Tárrega, Dowland, Broca and Schubert, alongside Spanish masterpieces and Scottish and Peruvian traditional music, ending with The Parting Glass. Each piece is chosen to show a different facet of the guitar's colour, character and emotional depth.
