El Chamuyo Quartet: tango-jazz fusion for their EP launch.

El Chamuyo Quartet celebrate the release of their debut EP with a vibrant fusion of Argentine tango and jazz, part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The London-based quartet spans more than a century of Argentine tradition, from the dance halls of 1920s Buenos Aires and tango's Golden Era to the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla and their own original compositions. Drawing on jazz harmony and improvisation while rooted in tango's dance-floor origins, they promise sultry melodies, intricate rhythms and virtuosic playing. The line-up is Kamila Bydlowska on violin, Adam Dyer on piano, Simon Cook on bandoneon and Juan Pablo Mauro on double bass.
