About

A free event about how architecture can inspire poetry, held at the National Poetry Library on Level 5 of the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre. It is organised by RIBA Learning and centres on the Poetry Buildings group exhibition, where visual poets and artists explore the relationship between poetry and the built environment. The exhibition's collection spans from ancient eras to the concrete poetry movement of the 1950s and today's voices. After an introduction, participants join a short activity writing their own poetry inspired by the brutalist Southbank Centre surroundings, starting from scratch or using prompts from the places they are in.
