The Lyrical Bridge: An Immersive Journey through Chinese Verse & Sound is a family workshop where children and their parents experience Chinese poetry through sound, verse and live music, rather than lessons or rote learning. It is run by the Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London. The bilingual session includes interactive poetry learning in pinyin, Chinese and English, drama games and creative movement, live erhu and piano accompaniment, and family singing with a showcase, plus a small gift for every child. It suits ages 5 to 12, admission is free with limited spaces and booking required, and adults should wear comfortable clothes and flat non-slip footwear, joining in throughout.
