About
A free lunchtime recital at St Mary's Church, part of the church's eleventh Free Friday Lunchtime Recital of 2026. Francis Bushell and Emma Howarth explore the bassoon's diverse characteristics through a winter lens, opening with Elgar's dark and brooding Romance, moving through Schubert and Fauré songs arranged by Francis, and closing with repertoire that pushes the bassoon to its limits. Free hot drinks and cake are served from 12.45pm, and no ticket is needed. The recital series is made possible by the legacy gift of Denise Antenen and donations from St Mary's congregation.
