About
Funk Jam Session is London's long-running monthly funk jam, where a house band opens the night with a high-energy set before the stage is handed to guest musicians, singers and dancers. It is hosted by London Funk Network, led by bandleader Troy Jackson, who bring together some of London's finest funk players. The repertoire stretches from the sounds of James Brown and Prince to modern hits from Bruno Mars, built on tight rhythms, soulful grooves and improvisation. Musicians can join the jam with free entry on a bar purchase, while the audience is welcome to sit back or dance.
