About
Hadestown is an 8-time Tony-award-winning and Olivier-nominated stage show set in a Depression-era underworld fused with Greek myth. It tells the love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice, two lovers steeped in poverty, and of Hades, the Greek God of the Underworld, and his wife Persephone. To secure food and shelter, Eurydice signs away her life and becomes a worker in Hadestown, Hades' underground factory. Orpheus follows her to the Underworld and vows to save her, rallying the workers until Hades offers him a chance to win back Eurydice's human life.
