Hunger Strike Breakfast: a Lithuanian film, UK premiere.

A UK premiere screening of the film "Hunger Strike Breakfast", part of the London Baltic Film Festival. Karolis Kaupinis' film, inspired by real events, follows Daiva, a Lithuanian TV star in the early '90s who loses her job as Russian soldiers occupy the TV studios; she declares a hunger strike outside the station, joined by only a handful of people, and as hunger grows the strikers realise they are truly starving for confession and human warmth. The London Baltic Film Festival, now in its sixth edition, is the UK's only celebration of cinema from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, supported by the three countries' embassies and film institutes. A Q&A is planned, with details to be confirmed.
