About
An evening of short 16mm films by artist Jenny Baines, whose works are built around her performances to camera. She sets herself tasks – scaling a lamp post, hula-hooping, swimming against a current – that must play out in the time it takes her clockwork camera's spring to wind down and the film to run out, turning each film into a kind of competition. The programme spans works from 2007 to 2025, including double-projection pieces, and is often comedic in its timing. Jenny Baines will be present to introduce and discuss her work in a Q&A.
