About

A free mathematics seminar in the Junior Dynamics Seminar series, open to all with first-come first-served entry. Its speaker is Chris Chalhoub, a research postgraduate at Imperial College London. His talk, 'Delocalisation and scaling limit for the disordered long-range Discrete Gaussian Chain', studies how an external random field affects the localisation or delocalisation of that model. He proves the model is delocalised at every inverse temperature for polynomial decay with alpha greater than 3/2, and describes the delocalised phase through the growth exponent and scaling limit of the height at the origin.
