About

A triple bill of surf films followed by Q&As, screening as part of the London Surf / Film Festival. It opens with the world premiere of Language of Water, directed by Joya Berrow, an intimate portrait of sisters Lilly Bertrand-Webb and Bellaray Bertrand-Webb exploring sound and duality through the lens of a cochlear implant. It continues with the world premiere of Within, Stuart Ryan's story of Stephen Downes finding freedom beyond survival, and the UK premiere of The Surf Was Better Before, Owen Legoff's wry tale of Breton surfer Ian Fontaine travelling into the future. The evening is accompanied by the Shorties shortlist films, the best shorts from homegrown filmmakers.
