About

A concert of contemporary fado led by the Portuguese guitar. Marta Pereira da Costa, the first woman to perform professionally on the instrument at the heart of fado, weaves in Brazilian chorinho, Cape Verdean morna and subtle shades of jazz while remaining rooted in Portuguese music. Awarded Instrumentalist of the Year by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, she honours fado's heritage while reshaping its future.
