Afro-Latin Fiesta: Message from Gambia ft Suntou Susso

Folktales presents Afro-Latin Fiesta: Message from Gambia, the final night of a UK headline tour, with live music followed by a late-night afterparty. The headliner is Suntou Susso & The Gambian Superstars, a first-time UK pairing of the kora maestro, singer-songwriter and composer with his homegrown band. Born into the ancient Griot tradition of the Mandinka people, he plays a 22-string kora rooted in a 700-year tradition, fusing Afro-Manding roots with jazz, funk, soul and contemporary sounds. The support is London trio Las Chanchas with Chicha and psychedelic cumbia, plus DJ Moussa, a French-Ivorian selector and one half of Mamoussa.
