Material Rhythms

Material Rhythms is a new exhibition of abstract paintings presented by the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery. It shows work by the Danish painter Morten Lassen, who is based in Copenhagen and has exhibited widely across the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, and Australia. The presentation takes place at the Billy Reid atelier on Fifth Avenue, as part of the gallery's ongoing collaboration with the American fashion house. Lassen works without preparatory sketches, building surfaces of subtle grids, shifting textures, and tonal variation through the gradual accumulation of oil paint.
