Rhythms of Making – Iva Polachova & Lizzie Kimbley
Flow Gallery, Needham Road 1-5, W11 2RP London, Westbourne
About
"Rhythms of Making" is a winter exhibition at Flow Gallery exploring the rhythms of making in ceramics and weaving. Ceramicist Iva Polachova builds forms through repetitive hand-building techniques, marking her surfaces with her signature patchwork of parallel lines, and creates bowls, cups, jugs, decorative vessels and sculptural pieces. Weaver and textile artist Lizzie Kimbley makes wall-pieces inspired by daily walks in the marsh and meadows near her Norfolk home, working with woven textiles, natural dyes and basketry techniques. Her pieces combine reclaimed and re-imagined materials, including linen offcuts, handmade cordage, paper yarn and industry waste yarn, celebrating time spent in nature.
