About
Orlando: A Pornobiography is a theatre piece, part pornographic bildungsroman and part frosted fever dream, presented as a bold and fearless reinterpretation of Virginia Woolf's Orlando. It is created by the award-winning duo pissCARNATION, Charli Cowgill and Laurie Ward, and performed by an ensemble of transfemme performers in a world premiere commissioned by New Diorama Theatre. The story follows Orlando across centuries, from palace hunts and skaters on the frozen River Thames to a plane ticket to Neukölln, Berlin, as the 16th Century dials a phone sex hotline and finds the 21st Century seeking a body capable of enduring its own desires. The piece explores erotic entanglements, historical ruptures, and queer intrusions in this daring anti-adaptation.
