About

Poems Not Bombs is a free monthly poetry open mic held upstairs at Walthamstow Trades Hall, open to poets of all experiences and levels. It is hosted by Paul McGrane of the local poetry collective Forest Poets. Sign-up on the night runs from 6.30pm to 7pm, and time permitting everyone gets five minutes; anyone can read poems on any theme, or simply come along to listen. For the 29 October 2026 session near Halloween, attendees are invited to bring scary poems, though themed poems are optional and all poems are welcome.
