About
Poetry Unplugged: Open Mic is an open mic evening at the Poetry Cafe where a ticket does not guarantee a slot: those wishing to perform sign up on the door between 7 and 7:30, with 20 four-minute slots drawn at random from a hat. The legendary evening is hosted by Niall O'Sullivan, a poet, editor and lecturer who ran Poetry Unplugged weekly at the Covent Garden cafe from 2005 to 2020. He has released four books of poetry with Flipped Eye and currently teaches poetry at London Metropolitan University, where he is Course Leader for Creative Writing and English Literature. The event is for ages 18 and over, and two bursary tickets are available for those facing financial difficulty.
