About

Snap Happy! How Children Became Photographers is an exhibition at The Photographers' Gallery that explores the history of children as photographers. Curated by Annebella Pollen, Professor of Visual and Material Culture at the University of Brighton, it traces photography's movement from elite pastime to popular hobby through photographs and archives. The show features camera clubs, magazines, photobooks, advertising, manuals, comics and toys, celebrating the creativity and distinctive perspectives of generations of young photographers.
