About

Light and Magic: The Birth of Art Photography is an exhibition at Tate Modern exploring pictorialism as a global movement. It is the first major exhibition on this subject, showing how artists became pioneers of the darkroom and transformed image making. The show brings together over 200 rare prints by more than 80 artists from Seoul to Sydney, New York to Cape Town and Brazil to Singapore. It features never-before seen works from around the world alongside pieces from Tate's Collection, presented in the Eyal Ofer Galleries.
