Strange Cargo: Live in Session is a live music evening at Oriole Bar, with a main set from 20:00 and a late set from 10.30 pm. Strange Cargo is the project of Laurence Corns, made up of Soothsayer horns Idris Raman and Robin Hopcraft, guitarist Rob Updegraff, and Tom Mason and Saleem Raman on bass and drums. Their music weaves three-part harmonies, grooves from across the African continent, colourful horn arrangements and interlocking guitar patterns into songs shaped by the musicians' London background, described as modern folk songs of love, whimsey and nostalgia woven through hypnotic grooves. Entry to the main set costs £12 per person, with the late set from 10.30 pm priced at £6.
