About
Temporary Exhibitions at the London Canal Museum is a changing programme of short-term displays, usually two a year on subjects relating to canals and the ice trade. The current exhibition, Battlebridge Basin, is organised by the museum and tells the story of the water behind the museum over two hundred years, from coal, ice and jam to the boaters who live on it today. It began as a dock cut into a field from 1818 for a builder who wagered a private basin would raise his land's worth. The first-floor display uses archive photographs, maps and plans, a short film by Floating Films and a free digital guide, and is included with admission.
