Tenzing

Thu 29 Oct

Picturehouse Central, Great Windmill Street, W1D 7DH London, Covent Garden

About

A screening of the documentary "Tenzing", part of a meetup with drinks and a discussion afterwards. The film is directed by Jennifer Peedom, the Australian filmmaker behind "Sherpa", and depicts the historic climb of Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary. Beyond the ice and danger, it focuses on the human elements of trust, brotherhood and friendship at high altitude.

Critics

7.9Very good

Critics praise a likable, inspiring hero, immersive cinematography and an immersive, overdue tribute. They fault a formulaic, by-the-book biopic structure and underdeveloped supporting characters.
