The official London book launch of Dr Louise Brangan's new history book, The Fallen: The Magdalene Laundries and Ireland's Legacy of Silence. Dr Louise Brangan, an Irish academic named a BBC and AHRC New Generation Thinker in 2023, will discuss the book in conversation with journalist Anne Flaherty, exploring the Magdalene Laundries and the legacy of the women and girls institutionalised in them. The evening follows the stories of six women whose lives were shaped by the Laundries and ends with a book signing, with copies available to purchase on the night.
