About
Walk to Write is a 90-minute guided walk in Crystal Palace Park that uses walking, observation and creative writing to explore how movement, attention and place can open up new ways of seeing and writing. It is led by Taran Khan, who developed the approach with groups of non-professional writers, including Afghan women writers at risk. Participants interact with sensory cues and objects along the route to generate ideas, images and stories, working with accessible prompts and pushing through creative blocks. Taran chose the park for its range of landscapes, histories and conflicting narratives to encounter while walking; the small group walk ends near the Concert Platform.
