About

The Winston Taylor Photo Portrait Prize 2026 is an exhibition of contemporary photographic portraiture at the National Portrait Gallery. Formerly known as Taylor Wessing, the prize celebrates a diverse range of images, from formal commissioned portraits to spontaneous moments capturing friends and family, with many selected works on display for the first time. The shortlisted photographers are James Clifford Kent, Marcie Docherty, Katie Hitchcock-Smith and Max Pattenden, whose portraits range from a young fencer in Cuba to cowboy-themed pictures in Morocco and a village portrait in Devon. The winner of the prize will be announced on 3 November 2026.
