About
Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is a satirical film about Cold War paranoia, shown on the big screen. Stanley Kubrick co-wrote the absurdist black comedy with Terry Southern, reinventing the nuclear suspense thriller of its day. Peter Sellers plays three roles—the meek RAF Captain Mandrake, the bungling U.S. President Merkin Muffley, and the mad scientist of the title, inventor of a doomsday machine—with George C. Scott and Sterling Hayden alongside. The film is considered one of the seminal counterculture works of the 1960s.
