The Trouble with Harry
The Metrograph, Ludlow Street 7, 10002 New York, Manhattan
About
A film by Alfred Hitchcock, adapted from Jack Trevor Story's novel of the same name, in which the residents of a small New England hamlet repeatedly try and fail to dispose of a dead body that has appeared in their midst. A darkly comic tale shot partly on location in Vermont with radiant fall foliage in Technicolor, and a rare foray into black comedy for Hitchcock. It stars Shirley MacLaine, Mildred Natwick, and Jerry 'The Beaver' Mathers as smalltown American 'types.'

Critics
6.6Good
The hostile verdict finds the comedy unfunny and the script flat, calling the film a total failure. The favourable view enjoys its whimsical macabre humor and the director's playful, affectionate handling of the absurd.
