Terre Thaemlitz: live piano and a talk on art and wages.

An evening of live solo piano followed by a public conversation at the Roulette venue, part of the Durations Festival. The performer is Terre Thaemlitz, also known as DJ Sprinkles, a house producer, DJ, and writer presenting her first composition for solo piano. The piece belongs to a series begun in 2024 of acoustic performances on a grand piano, using improvisational systems and occasional prepared-piano techniques. Afterward, Triple Canopy contributing editor Ciarán Finlayson joins Thaemlitz to discuss her music and her criticism of a culture industry that offers artists exposure instead of wages.
