La MaMa Kids: Kinding Sindaw Dance Interactive Workshop

La MaMa Kids: Kinding Sindaw Dance Interactive Workshop is a 60-minute workshop where children learn how rhythm, music, and ritual dances tell the story of planting and harvesting rice. It is led by Potri Ranka Manis and Kinding Sindaw, an NYC-based, AANHPI / BIPOC-led non-profit founded in 1992 that preserves the southern Philippines' living traditions through dance, storytelling, kulintang music, and silat. Through movements inspired by farming activities, participants build coordination, teamwork, and confidence, combining music and dance in an ensemble performance. The workshop explores community, celebration, and gratitude while highlighting the importance of preserving living traditions and cultural heritage.
