La Sonnambula: Bellini's opera, sung and signed as one.

This is an opera performance reimagining Bellini and Romani's La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker). It is staged by Opera Praktikos, a disability-affirmative company, and conducted by Spicer Carr with Brandon Kazen-Maddox as ASL conductor. The production makes accessibility part of the work from the beginning, weaving spoken, sung, and signed languages into one expressive whole. It is part of makemake, National Sawdust's new annual festival rooted in disability-led design.
