About
Wholly Unwinding is a new musical and New York premiere that blends folk concert, immersive ritual, and dance party into a journey of self-discovery. It was created by composer-performer Hailey McAvoy, making her compositional debut, directed by Edwin Cahill, and developed by the company Hogfish. The piece explores McAvoy's life with cerebral palsy, inviting audiences to honor their scars through song, hands-on Alexander Technique, an art gallery of work by disabled artists, and a closing inclusive dance party. It is part of makemake, National Sawdust's new annual festival rooted in disability-led design and accessibility.
