OOA Midday Express Concerts: Rubin Kodheli, cello and Miles Johnston, guitar

OOA Midday Express Concerts brings cellist Rubin Kodheli and guitarist Miles Johnston to Hunter College for a genre-bending performance built on improvisation, musical instinct, and real-time conversation. Kodheli is a Juilliard-trained cellist and composer who has worked with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Philip Glass, Christian McBride, Joan Jett, and Snoop Dogg, crossing classical, jazz, rock, and experimental music. Johnston is an award-winning Australian guitarist who studied with Sharon Isbin at Juilliard and won the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition. Moving between composed material, reimagined works, and music created in the moment, the performance is less a traditional concert than a shared musical experience, and it is free and open to the public with RSVP.
