About
Queer|Art Summit: Becoming What We Practice is a two-day summit of workshops and conversations on community practices and queer artistry in times of crisis, closing with an afterparty of DJ sets and live performances from USHKA and the Illustrious Blacks. It is organized by Queer|Art in honor of the 15-year anniversary of Queer|Art|Mentorship, bringing together artists, scholars, and organizers to answer Alexis Pauline Gumbs' question, 'What are the intergenerational and evolutionary ways that we become what we practice?' Curated by Reya Sehgal, Rio Sofia, viento izquierdo-ugaz, Nile Harris, Zefyr Lisowski, and Catching on Thieves, and produced by Buffy Sierra with the Performance Space New York staff, it is supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and UGG. Sliding scale tickets cover the full weekend of programming, including the afterparty, and support Queer|Art's mentorship for queer and trans artists across the United States.
