About

Rope is a new stage adaptation of the 1929 play by Patrick Hamilton, the hit thriller that inspired Alfred Hitchcock's 1948 film. Scott Elliott, artistic director of The New Group, directs this off-Broadway production at the Theatre at St. Clement's, starring Corey Fogelmanis, Elizabeth Gillies, Jason Butler Harner, Cameron Monaghan, Graham Phillips, and James Waterston. It tells of Garrett Stern and Nate Singer, who host a dinner party with great food, fine drinks and sterling guests — and a dead body hidden in a trunk. Keeping the murder a secret proves much harder than committing one, in a murder mystery that is wickedly funny and deliciously dark.
