The Feminine Urge

The Tank, West 36th Street 312, Manhattan

About

'The Feminine Urge' is a play at The Tank about Carson, a trans sex worker who, finding that even the money she takes from men no longer satisfies her, begins taking their lives. It is written by playwright and producer Caleb Dukes, directed by Hallie Sebastian, and led by Tia Anthony, with Sam Cook, Allyson Simmons, and Randall Simmons producing and Cas Ross as stage manager. Drawing on the trans villainy trope, the play pushes the boundaries of acceptable queer discourse and puts the audience in direct conversation with a serial killer at a crossroads: can she give up her bloodlust for real love, or is there even such a thing? It carries content warnings for depictions and discussions of murder, sexual assault, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia.
