"The Undercity" is a rat puppet pageant about overthrowing a crumbling empire on the verge of ecological collapse. Gaby FeBland and Sammy Zeisel, who create multidisciplinary puppet plays harnessing communal ritual, set the show in a 1970s New York-inspired neon-lit rat metropolis beneath our feet, where Rat Girl uncovers a vast conspiracy that threatens the fate of her world. The play was developed during a 2024 residency at Culture Lab LIC and received a Production Grant from the Jim Henson Foundation. It runs 50 minutes.
