A Talent for Murder
Arthouse Le Paris, Gottfried-Keller-Strasse 7, 8001 Zürich, Altstadt
About
A feature film about the writer Patricia Highsmith, who lives a reclusive life in the Swiss mountains in 1995. Her New York publisher sends the young Edward Ridgeway to Switzerland to persuade her to write one last Ripley novel. What begins as a business visit turns into an ingenious psychological duel. Helen Mirren and Alden Ehrenreich play the leading roles.

Critics
Critics praise Helen Mirren's commanding, gleefully wicked lead performance and the sharp, tense duel with her co-star in Corbijn's punchy two-hander. Faults include uneven plotting: the play adaptation is not especially clever, and the middle section drags and loses momentum.
