About

A workshop where participants listen to, discuss and try out songs connected to armed conflicts. It is led together with choir director Maayan Baram and asks what moods songs such as laments, resistance songs (for example from the Italian Resistenza) and marching songs can convey, and what impact singing can have in the context of war. Participants are invited to bring their own songs that remind them of war contexts, with no expectation that they must be sung aloud. The workshop is held in German and English and is part of the 'Addressing War?' focus event; afterwards participants are invited to a panel discussion and performance.
