About
«Als die Tiere den Wald verliessen» is a puppet theatre piece for ages eight and up, told like a road movie with puppets, live video and music. It comes from the Berlin puppeteer collective Artisanen, directed by Franziska Dittrich and performed by Inga Schmidt and Stefan Spitzer, freely based on the book by Colin Dann. When the machines fell the Thaler forest and even the last pond is buried under the excavator, eight very different animals flee their threatened home. On their long, uncertain journey full of adventures they realise they can only survive by sticking together – and what awaits them at the end remains open.
