About

The Aurel Stodola Lecture is a talk held in connection with the award of the Aurel Stodola Medal at ETH Zurich. The medal is awarded by the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering to internationally distinguished individuals whose research has made a lasting impact on the engineering sciences. The award commemorates ETH Zurich Professor Aurel Stodola, whose pioneering contributions to applied thermodynamics in the early twentieth century shaped generations of engineers around the world. The 2026 laureate is Prof. Wei Chen of Northwestern University, a leading expert in data- and simulation-driven materials design and intelligent manufacturing, who will deliver the lecture as part of the award.
