Das Vermächtnis Amazoniens

The exhibition "Das Vermächtnis Amazoniens – Kunst und Archäologie" invites visitors to discover Amazonia as one of South America's most diverse cultural regions. The Museum Rietberg presents monumental structures, richly decorated ceramics and spectacular rock paintings from a past reaching back at least 13,000 years. The show also introduces worldviews still alive in many indigenous communities, in which nature and culture are not seen as separate. In this way it encourages us to rethink our relationship with the world and explore new ways of living together.
