For Trained and Untrained Musicians

A special concert in the «Opera Nova» series invites the audience to switch sides, from listening to playing along: making music together is at the centre, and this needs neither virtuoso technique nor any musical background. What is called for instead are open ears, curiosity and the willingness to communicate with others without words, through simple self-made sounds alone. The evening features Christian Wolff's «Stones», John Cage's «4′33″» and «Paragraph 7» from Cornelius Cardew's «The Great Learning». Guests are asked to bring a few small stones they can carry themselves.
