François Lindemann-Alvin Queen Sextet

At Moods in the Schiffbau, the François Lindemann-Alvin Queen Sextet performs classic jazz. Behind the project are François Lindemann on piano and Alvin Queen on drums, with Eddie Henderson (trumpet), Greg Osby (saxophone), Robin Eubanks (trombone) and Heiri Känzig (bass). The musicians, who have otherwise played alongside greats such as Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Elvin Jones or Oscar Peterson, pay tribute to the masters John Coltrane and Miles Davis on what would have been their 100th birthday. Rather than playing their music, they follow their example of inventiveness and creativity — a homage to what both gave to jazz.
