Hubert Kiecol: reduced sculptures on dwelling.

An exhibition of works by the sculptor Hubert Kiecol at Häusler Contemporary in Zurich. It runs alongside his solo presentation at Haus Mödrath, where three Rhineland-based artistic positions – Ursula Schulz-Dornburg, Hubert Kiecol and Behrang Karimi – each occupy one floor of the historic manor house. There Kiecol draws a precise selection from his sculptural work since the 1970s: reduced objects in concrete, steel and colour that condense houses, stairs, windows and passages as signs of dwelling and „being in the world“, complemented by partly unpublished works on paper. The overarching question of the presentation is how a form comes into being that appears older than its origin.
