About
A lecture by the Volkshochschule Zürich held at the University of Zurich under the title «Monets Maltechnik» with the subtitle «Pinsel, Palette und Pleinair». It is about Claude Monet, who like hardly any other Impressionist was drawn into nature to capture the colours of light on canvas. His plein air painting is discussed, using pre-primed canvases, new paints and brushes, along with his bold, smooth or impasto brushstrokes that captured atmospheric effects in a fascinating interplay of colours and shapes. He also translated the latest findings on optics and colour perception into painting.
