The cabinet exhibition 'Patumbah liegt auf Sumatra. Eine Villa und ihre kolonialen Wurzeln' presents essential parts of the 2020/2021 special exhibition in concentrated form. It examines the history of the Villa Patumbah and the colonial ties of its builder Carl F. Grob in Southeast Asia. Photographs, films and letters offer insight into everyday work and living conditions in colonial Sumatra, where 'planters' and people from various cultures worked under very harsh conditions. The exhibition is in German and French, with an English hand-out.
