The Explosive Violinist – Ara Malikian’s «Intruso»

A violin concert where the legacy of Mozart and Bach meets jazz, tango, klezmer and Cuban music. Behind the evening is the exceptional violinist Ara Malikian – of Armenian descent, raised in Lebanon, trained in Germany and England – who has been called the rock star of classical music. He is joined by four Cuban musicians: Iván «Melón» Lewis on piano, Dayan Abad on guitar, Iván Ruiz Machado on bass and double bass, and Pico Millán on drums. The violinist draws on very different musical traditions to shape explosive, fascinating live shows, showing what connects us all: the language of music.
